They flew into San Francisco and enjoyed the city life for a couple days, then they stayed at Rush Creek Lodge, an incredible resort close to Yosemite valley to celebrate, and went on some of the most intense hikes that Yosemite offers. Yosemite is a popular spot, but it sure is something special! They planned their whole trip around their engagement photos with me. It was incredible to see them experience it for the first time and feel the powerful energy that Yosemite radiates. Katie and James had never been to Yosemite before and never knew about Taft Point until I recommended it. Getting away from the day to day routine, traveling somewhere new, unplugging and connecting with the flow of nature. Creating a sacred space for my couples to connect in a meaningful way with each other and the earth. That is my intention focusing on adventure elopements. I know I’ve said this before, but one of my favorite aspects of adventure sessions is getting to know my clients on a deeper level and providing them with a life changing experience. ![]() We hiked through the forest, climbed on boulders, rolled around in the dirt, and talked about life and how important experiences are. They’re both avid hikers so it seemed fitting they would choose Yosemite for their engagement photos. ![]() Keep in mind you cans still have your wedding photos taken in Yosemite the next day! So you'd get the best of both worlds.Katie and James met on a hiking trek in Iceland a couple years ago and discovered they lived in the same town in Colorado. If you have decided to get married outside of the park so that you can have a larger guest count, below are some fantastic wedding options. My suggestion would be to speak to your Yosemite wedding photographer on wedding ceremony locations inside and outside of the park, this way you have a few options There aren't a lot of options to host larger scaled events in the actual park. If you're having a larger guest count, I'd recommend getting married outside of Yosemite and scheduling a photo session in Yosemite the next day. Or, if you'd prefer to get married outside of the park and then have a photo session the next day in the Yosemite National Park.
